Way To Go “Stump”

So yeah, I came back from the library tonight and my Mom had the Westminster Kennel Club showing on TV. I have always been a big fan of dogs and thought I would watch some of it. I sat down on the couch as they were doing the Working Dogs group and found it fascinating. (No, I have not seen the movie Best in Show. Thanks for asking.) I watched the Sporting Dog group as well and became a big fan of Stump*, a cute little chestnut-colored Sussex Spaniel.

Stump was quiet, attentive, ever so slightly playful, and walked a straight line without ever looking askance at the other dogs lined up along the edge of the ring. He wound up getting Best in Show and I gave a delighted shout when it was announced, much to the consternation of Roswell who had been sitting in my lap most of the time I was watching the show. (She is not much of a fan of dogs but will tolerate them if necessary.) Below is a link to the story of Stump’s win.

*My favorite dog overall was the Alaskan Malamute “Still The One”.

I Did Nothing Today

So, it is almost 2:00am on Monday night (Tuesday morning) and I did absolutely NOTHING today. Well, I did go for a 4.2 mile run but other than that I spent a good 8-10 hours on my computer today doing the following things: arguing with people on the internet; looking at (fake) motivational posters, lolcatz, and YouTube videos of planes taking off and landing; reading all the “Hot” articles on Reddit; and a million other mindless things. I just didn’t feel like doing anything today. Although, considering I read two whole books and started a third over the weekend, applied for four jobs in WDC I found on Craigslist, and e-mailed some friends,  I am not doing too bad on my personal productivity. But I still feel like a giant lame-o. Man, I can’t wait until I have a job again. Being unemployed (and poor) sucks.*

*I would totally love being unemployed and rich because then I could spend all my time thinking about ways to give away my money. (Well, that and traveling.) I keep a list in my head of places to get donations if I ever win a lot of money in the lottery** but as I buy lottery tickets only rarely my mental list is probably just a waste of brain cells. Oh well.
